Yosemite National Park in California has a lot to offer. It has towering giant granite mountains, some of the world's tallest waterfalls, Giant Sequoia trees and an abundance of wildlife. The most frequently visited part of the park is Yosemite Valley itself. It spans elevations ranging from 2,000 to 13,000 feet above sea level. The valley was carved by the movement of glaciers, which ultimately retreated leaving a lake behind. Sediment in the lake formed the relatively flat bed of the canyon.

This is a view eastward into Yosemite Valley with Half Dome in the distance to the right.	This is a view of Half Dome from west of Yosemite's chapel.

This is a photo of the upper section of Yosemite Falls. The falls consists of an upper and lower section. Together, upper and lower Yosemite falls drop more than 2400 feet. Yosemite Falls is the 5th largest waterfall in the world.	This is the view east into Yosemite Valley from a vantage point high up the Four Mile Trail. Four Mile trail (actually 4.6 miles long) rises about 3200 feet, making it a pretty strenuous climb up. At the top, you're rewarded with views from Glacier Point.
