Pacific Grove, California is a smaller, somewhat
quainter alternative to Monterey. I was impressed that the town has preserved
the rocky beach for people to enjoy. On the ridgetop overlooking the rocky
beach is a beautiful garden with park benches and paved trail.

I don't know what it's like during other times of the
year, but in May, there's a profusion of color stretching as far as the eye
can see along the seaside here.
