There are state parks along Oregon's coast virtually
every few miles. Some are sandy, some rocky. Some, like Seal Rock State Park,
have the most fascinating tidepools a midwest boy such as myself has ever had
the pleasure to see. These could not be any more beautiful if designed and laid
out by the folks that manage the world-class aquaria you see in many major
cities. The tidepools are teeming with anemones, starfish, hermit crabs, and
little fish. Time your visit correctly and you can be entertained for hours.
Make sure you get a tide chart!!
