The Ocean Path from Sand Beach down to the area around Otter Cliffs offers spectacular ocean views. The whole coastline here is lined with beautiful pink granite. The Ocean Path is an easy, flat trail making for a pleasant walk. But at almost any point along the way, it's possible to scramble over rocks down to the crashing surf. This is the area where Thunder Hole is located - a blowhole that sends water spewing high into the air when the incoming surf brings waves crashing into a narrow slot in the rocky shore.

The seashore here is lined with boulders and cliffs of pink granite, for which the area has become reknowned.	More of the seashore in Acadia National Park, Maine.
