It's possible to drive to the summit of Cadillac Mountain to enjoy the
beautiful views afforded in every direction. From the parking lot at the top
of the mountain, there's a quick little trail that circles the summit, offering
beautiful views in all directions. Several of the Cadillac ridge
trail hikes also cross this summit. The top of this mountain is particularly
beautiful for a number of reasons - the views of the ocean and islands offshore,
as well as the beautiful pink grainite the area is famous for. In addition,
the pink granite is speckled in many places with beautiful green lichen and
moss. Unfortunately for photographers, the National Park Service has done
their very best to spoil the natural beauty of this area and the views from
the top of this mountain by erecting wooden fences everywhere.
